Earlier this week, The Stormville Fire Company had a chance to drill at a different location than usual. One of our members has a trail on their property that we were able to utilize. Using a third of a mile loop trail, we were able to simulate an injured hiker scenario, and we used our side by side off road vehicle to removed the hiker from the woods. An off road vehicle is a great tool to aid in search and rescue, as is our thermal imaging camera, but no technology can best teamwork and communication. It was a very fun drill that was very well attended by both fire and medical members!🚒#stormvillefire #stormville #eastfishkill #offroad #rescue ...

The National Weather Service has issued an Air Quality Alert, and hazy conditions may be visible across the region. If you suffer from asthma, COPD, or other respiratory conditions, consider limiting your time outdoors until the air quality improves. If you see heavy smoke (not from the wild fire) or believe you have discovered a fire, please do not hesitate to call 911 immediately. At this time, it is unknown how long these smoky conditions will remain, but if you step outside, you’ll likely notice the haze and smell of smoke.Rest assured, your Stormville Fire Company volunteers, along with our partners throughout the East Fishkill Fire District, stand ready to respond should the need arise. ...

This past week, multiple members from the East Fishkill Fire District traveled to FDIC International in Indianapolis to further their training and sharpen their skills. While attending the conference, our members participated in intensive extrication training, designed to prepare them for real-world emergencies back here at home. Operating in extremely challenging conditions—with little to no room to maneuver—our firefighters worked through complex scenarios and successfully freed victims trapped in difficult situations. This type of hands-on training is critical to ensuring we are ready when our community needs us most.We would like to thank the members who dedicated their time and effort to attend this training and bring valuable knowledge and experience back to the Stormville Fire Company and Hillside lake company and the East Fishkill Fire District.Your commitment to excellence does not go unnoticed. ...
